Our Founder and President, Mesfin Woldesenbet, M.D., will share stories of HANDS’ accomplishments this past year, and how we can join forces to make a difference in the lives of helpless infants born in Ethiopia.

Date: October 5, 2013
Time: 3:30 – 6:00 PM
Location: Merkamo Ethiopian Bistro
7020 Commerce Street, Springfield, Virginia
RSVP to: Mimi Kebede, mimik33@yahoo.com, or
Yemi Mulugeta, yemisrach_mulugeta@yahoo.com.

“Infants born in Ethiopia have a 10X greater chance of dying in the first month after they are born than infants born in the United States,” says Dr. Woldesenbet. “Our mission is to do everything we can to reduce the infant mortality rate in Ethiopia. According to the Bill Gates Foundation, Ethiopia’s child mortality rate has decreased 60% since 1990, so much progress has been made … but much remains to be done to improve neonatal care in Ethiopia.”
